Sydney Harbour Bridge walk is one of the best things to do in Sydney. The total length of the birdge is about 1,149 meters (3,770 feet), 48.8m wide and 134m high. The longest span is 503m and the clearance below the bridge is 49m at mid-span. There are total 8 lanes for vehicles, 2 train tracks on the west side of the bridge and cycling tracks to its west. A path for pedestrian use runs along the eastern side of the bridge. This is where bridge walk is done.
The southern end of the bridge is located at Dawes Point in The Rocks area and the northern end at Milsons Point in the lower North Shore area.
Bridge walk can begin from either side of the bridge, Circular Quay, Cahill Express or The Rocks in the south or from Milson Point Train Station, corner of Burton and Broughton Street in the north. It will take about 20 to 30 minutes to walk across the bridge. But it all depends on the speed of the walk and how often bridge walkers stop to see the beautiful views along the bridge walk. Sydney Harbour Bridge walk is free.
